—Brides, grooms, and their families felt a bit more prepared for the big day, during the Seacoast Bridal Show at the Sheraton Harborside Hotel on Sunday.

Dozens of wedding professionals, including beauty experts, photographers, disc jockeys and caterers gathered under one roof to offer couples wedding ideas and resources during the bridal show, hosted by New Hampshire Weddings magazine.

The show also featured a fashion show of about 40 wedding gowns and flower girl dresses by William and Roberts, located at the Fox Run Mall in Newington.

Kristina Hathaway, publisher at New Hampshire Weddings magazine, said that the magazine hosts about four or five bridal shows per year. The shows are usually held during the winter season, when most couples start planning for the wedding day.

The bridal show on Sunday saw about 250 people at the event, said Hathaway.

For some brides, the fashion show on Sunday afternoon gave them an idea of what they would like to have as a wedding gown.

Derry resident Lindsay MacDonald, 27, especially like a sleek, one-shoulder William and Roberts dress showcased during the event.

MacDonald, who is getting married in June 2013, said she realized through the event how much more she will have to plan before the big day. At the bridal show, she and her bridesmaid Allison, her sister, got their hair professionally done, got a few gift ideas for their wedding guests, and even picked out a disc jockey they would like to have at the wedding. "It makes you more excited," said MacDonald, who after the show said she would like to have a photo booth at her wedding. Barrington resident Jodi Berry, 23, who is getting married in May 2013, said she came with her fiance's mom to her first bridal show because, "I don't have any idea what I'm doing" for the wedding. By the end of the show, however, Berry chose D.J. she wanted, and even booked a photographer for her wedding.

"(My fiance) doesn't know I had to put a deposit down," said Berry. "But I'm sure he'll be happy I made the plans." The bridal show made the upcoming wedding "feel more real," said Berry, who said the show, for her, was pretty productive. The show also included a raffle, and with luck, Berry won free lighting from the disc jockey.
